[Letter from Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles to Dr Thomas Horsfield, marked "Private" at top left hand corner], 1814 Novem 22. 1814.

Raffles says that he has "lately received several queries on the Natural History of Java, which incite interest at home, and take the opportunity of enclosing a copy with a Request that at your leisure you will do me the favor to reply to them generally". He also suggests that Dr. Horsfield might answer some queries by referring to Dr. Horsfield's own "Flora Javana."
